Lavry Quintessence
The Lavry Quintessence surpasses the legendary DA924 with even greater transparency, accuracy, and dynamic range, while adding advanced monitor control, calibration precision, and versatile I/O options.

Lavry Quintessence D/A Converter Details

The Lavry Quintessence is the reference-class successor to the legendary Lavry DA924, which held its place as the most accurate and transparent converter available for over sixteen years. Exceeding the DA924 in transparency, accuracy, musicality, and dynamic range, the Quintessence adds greater flexibility and advanced functionality to meet the requirements of today’s professional mastering studios.

At its core, the Lavry Quintessence provides unmatched digital-to-analogue conversion quality, ensuring ultra-low distortion, wide dynamic range, and absolute sonic fidelity. Designed for mastering engineers who demand absolute precision, it offers both Main and Monitor XLR stereo outputs with selectable +18 dBu or +24 dBu peak levels. The Monitor output features an 80 dB range of analogue volume adjustment, controlled via large illuminated pushbuttons and a rotary knob, with 0.25 dB resolution for highly accurate listening levels. The Main outputs can be finely calibrated in 0.1 dB steps over a ±0.7 dB range for exact alignment in critical workflows.

The Lavry Quintessence accepts three digital inputs (two AES and one SPDIF) with sample rates from 44.1 kHz up to 192 kHz. Switching between inputs recalls stored monitor volume settings automatically, allowing effortless ABX comparisons or fast workflow adjustments. Additional features include mono summing, polarity inversion, and balanced/unbalanced configuration for each output, while the personalised illumination system ensures status indicators remain clear in any environment.

Every detail of the Lavry Quintessence is designed to preserve audio integrity. With distortion figures as low as 0.0005%, noise floor of -110 dBFS, and stereo matching accuracy down to 0.04 dB, it guarantees the most faithful reproduction possible. The inclusion of transformer-isolated AES and SPDIF inputs ensures reliable, interference-free signal reception. Practical design features, such as click-and-pop protection on switching and a Volex V-Lock latching AC power cord, reinforce the Quintessence’s reputation for reliability and user-focused engineering.

For mastering engineers and audiophiles who require the absolute pinnacle of conversion technology, the Lavry Quintessence represents a new benchmark in digital-to-analogue performance.
