The Boss EH-50 is a compact half-rack stereo enhancer from the PRO Series designed to process upper harmonic content and mix it back with the fundamental signal for added clarity, punch and excitement without altering the original tone.
The Boss EH-50 operates as a true 2-in/2-out processor and benefits mono sources as well as stereo instruments. Five selectable Enhance Modes tailor the character of the effect: Presence to help parts cut through a mix, Voice for vocal clarity, Attack to emphasise transient snap, and two Expansion modes.
Expansion 1 links enhancement to input level while focusing on highs and lows for extra articulation and bite. Expansion 2 links enhancement to input level across the full spectrum and can also be used without selecting an input source.
Practical control is provided by an Enhance Level knob with an eight-point Enhance Level Indicator, plus dedicated indicators for mode, power and Enhance status. An Overload indicator for left and right channels assists with setting clean headroom.
The Enhance switch selects In or Out and can be remote-controlled via a pedal. With the optional RAD-50 adaptor, the Boss EH-50 mounts in a standard 482.6 mm rack. Power is via a 12 V AC adaptor from the BRA-120, 220 or 240 series.
