ART TPS II 2-Channel Tube Preamp Details

ART TPS II is a two-channel tube microphone preamplifier and instrument DI that brings the flexibility of the Tube MP Studio V3 into a single rackmount unit. Designed around ART’s Variable Valve Voicing architecture, ART TPS II offers a wide range of tonal options while remaining fast to use and easy to integrate into any studio or live setup.

At the core of ART TPS II is V3 Variable Valve Voicing, which provides sixteen onboard presets arranged across three overlapping groups: Neutral, Warm, and OPL. Each preset applies a carefully voiced EQ curve, with Warm presets introducing tube saturation and OPL presets activating Output Protection Limiting to manage loud sources and large transients. While each preset includes a suggested application, every setting has its own character, encouraging experimentation across vocals, instruments, and line-level sources. A Flat preset is also included to recreate the classic sound of the original Tube MP.

Both channels on ART TPS II operate independently, with separate V3 preset selection, input and output gain controls, and switchable boost, phantom power, and phase reversal. Variable microphone input impedance is provided on each channel, allowing the response of the preamp to be matched to different microphones for additional tonal shaping.

The front panel features LED input metering alongside an analogue output meter, plus a mic and instrument combo jack for each channel that automatically switches between instrument and microphone operation. On the rear panel, ART TPS II provides balanced XLR and 6.35 mm connections for microphone and line-level interfacing. With its wide frequency response, enhanced tube circuitry, and integrated output protection, ART TPS II is designed to deliver maximum tonal flexibility with minimal adjustment.
