Allison Research

Allison Research was a professional audio equipment manufacturer based in Hollywood, California, and a division of Original Sound, Inc. The company produced studio tools such as the Allison Research Kepex 500, a keyable program expander designed for multi-track recording and the noise problems associated with tape hiss, amplifier noise, air conditioner rumble, room echo and intertrack leakage. Allison Research focused on practical modular audio processing for recording engineers and producers, with designs that combined signal control, external keying, solid-state metering and interchangeable installation formats for rack-mounted or console-based studio systems.
