Eumig

Eumig tape decks reflected the Austrian manufacturer’s approach to precision engineering, combining distinctive industrial design with carefully developed transport systems and recording electronics. Its range included compact cassette decks and open-reel recorders designed for domestic high-fidelity use, with selected models offering advanced features such as multiple motors, electronic transport control, comprehensive tape calibration and compatibility with different tape formulations. Although Eumig was better known for its film equipment, its tape decks remain notable examples of European audio engineering from the 1970s and early 1980s.
