The TASCAM 134 is a robust 19-inch four-track, four-channel cassette deck designed for audiovisual and slide-show applications. The TASCAM 134 offers two tape speeds of 4.75 cm/s and 9.5 cm/s and features a microprocessor-controlled three-motor mechanism with a shuttle wheel and a Simul-Sync head system with hard permalloy.
Comprehensive noise reduction is provided by Dolby B/C and HX Pro, while pitch control of ± 12 % and a tension servo ensure precise tape tension. A built-in 25 Hz tone generator allows switching pulses on the fourth track for continuous-loop or slide-projector operation.
Convenience functions of the TASCAM 134 include a three-point auto-locator with block repeat, an electronic counter with index and tape-run-time display, independent channel level controls, LED peak-hold meters, front-panel microphone inputs, and a headphone monitor.
