Audix ADX51 Studio Condenser Microphone Details

The Audix ADX51 is a professional pre-polarised electret condenser microphone designed for stage, studio, and broadcast applications. It features a uniformly controlled cardioid polar pattern, a 14 mm gold vapor diaphragm, and a frequency response of 40 Hz to 18 kHz. The microphone includes switches for a -10 dB pad and a bass roll-off filter at 150 Hz, allowing for flexible miking of acoustic instruments, percussion, and vocals. Constructed with a precision machined brass body and black E-coat finish, the Audix ADX51 is designed, assembled, and tested in the USA.

The Audix ADX51 is a professional pre-polarised condenser microphone intended for use in stage, studio, and broadcast environments. It is characterised by a clear, accurate response and the flexibility to handle both close and distance miking for a wide variety of acoustic instruments. The microphone utilises a uniformly controlled cardioid polar pattern to capture the acoustics of the source while isolating it from surrounding instruments on stage.

Key acoustic features include a 14 mm gold vapor diaphragm and a frequency response ranging from 40 Hz to 18 kHz. The unit is equipped with recessed switches for a -10 dB pad and a bass roll-off filter that begins at 150 Hz. The pad switch reduces the input level by 10 dB to prevent distortion from loud sources, while the bass roll-off reduces boominess in voice or instrument recordings. Both switches are engaged when in the down position and require a miniature screwdriver or pen to operate.

The physical construction of the Audix ADX51 includes a precision machined brass body with a durable black E-coat finish. It features a steel mesh grill and a gold-plated XLR connector. The microphone is designed to be easy to position and durable, manufactured to high standards and tight tolerances. It requires phantom power to operate, with a recommended voltage of 48 Volts, and will not function without it.

The Audix ADX51 is supplied with a DCLIP heavy-duty nylon molded snap-on clip, a P1 carrying pouch, and a WS81C external foam windscreen for reducing wind, sibilance, and pop noise. Optional accessories include the APS2 two-channel 48 V phantom power supply, DFLEX dual pivot rim mounted clip, CBL20 20-foot premium XLR cable, PD133 two-layer mesh pop diffuser, and SMT25 low profile shock mount system.
