With a career spanning more than five decades, he has mixed for artists including Daft Punk, Mariah Carey, Eric Clapton, Prince, Jamiroquai, and Pharrell Williams. Born in Rochester, New York, Mick Guzauski began his career in the early 1970s, building his own studio and working with local bands. His early understanding of acoustics and electronics led him to become chief engineer at Cook Audio Services and later to work at Kendun Recorders in Los Angeles, where he developed the skills that would define his sound.
By the 1980s Mick Guzauski had established himself as a world-class engineer and mixer, working with artists such as Chuck Mangione, George Benson, and Earth, Wind & Fire. His reputation for creating smooth, detailed mixes brought him major label work throughout the decade. In the 1990s and 2000s he became one of the most sought-after mixers in pop and R&B, contributing to some of the best-selling records of all time. His collaboration with Mariah Carey resulted in numerous hits, while his later work with Daft Punk on Random Access Memories (2013) earned him three Grammy Awards including Album of the Year.
Guzauski continues to mix from his private studio in Los Angeles using a combination of analogue and digital tools, maintaining his focus on musical detail, emotional connection, and impeccable fidelity.
