The Eve Audio SC2070 is a compact, high-performance two-way active studio monitor designed to deliver exceptionally detailed sound reproduction from a relatively small enclosure. Drawing directly from the technologies used in the SC3070 and the TEC Award-winning SC4070, the Eve Audio SC2070 sets new standards for precision, resolution, and impulse accuracy in its class.
At the heart of the Eve Audio SC2070 is the newly developed RS7 Air Motion Transformer, created specifically for this model. The RS7 represents the largest AMT ever used in a two-way studio monitor. Its diaphragm area is approximately 1.5 times larger than that of the AMT units used in earlier SC models and almost as large as the RS6 employed in Eve Audio’s main monitors.
This allows the crossover frequency to be set as low as 1800Hz, an unusually low point for a two-way design, resulting in exceptionally coherent midrange imaging and a level of clarity normally associated with three-way systems. High and upper midrange frequencies are reproduced with remarkable precision, revealing fine detail and subtle nuances without sounding exaggerated or fatiguing.
Low and mid frequencies are handled by a 6.5-inch SilverCone woofer. The fiberglass-coated diaphragm is built around a stiff yet lightweight honeycomb structure, ensuring accurate tonal reproduction with low distortion. The woofer is driven by an advanced copper cap magnet system with a 1.5-inch voice coil, reducing harmonic distortion and delivering tight, dynamic bass performance. The result is a solid and controlled low-frequency foundation that remains articulate even at higher sound pressure levels.
The Eve Audio SC2070 is housed in an optimised, low-resonance cabinet with a reinforced front baffle. Bevelled cabinet edges reduce diffraction, while a carefully tuned rear bass-reflex port enhances low-frequency efficiency without introducing unwanted turbulence or port noise. Intelligent protection circuitry safeguards the drivers from overload, ensuring reliable performance in demanding studio environments.
System control and room adaptation are handled via Eve Audio’s SMART-knob interface. High-resolution DSP electronics, supported by a BurrBrown A/D converter, provide latency-free filtering and precise control over system volume and room correction filters. Adjustments can be made quickly and intuitively from the front panel, with all values displayed on the illuminated LED ring surrounding the SMART-knob. Selected settings can be locked using rear-panel DIP switches to prevent accidental changes. The Safe Fade-In function gradually increases volume on power-up, protecting both hearing and connected equipment.
Amplification is provided by two high-quality Class D amplifiers delivering a combined output power of 250 W. The maximum input level can be adjusted between 7 dBu and 22 dBu to ensure optimal A/D converter resolution when integrating the monitor into different studio signal chains. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs are provided for flexible connectivity.
Each Eve Audio SC2070 is assembled using premium components and undergoes meticulous individual quality control at the Eve Audio factory in Berlin before shipping.
