Ferrofish Pulse16 MX AD/DA Converter Details

The Ferrofish Pulse16 MX is a high-quality and cost-effective AD/DA converter, designed to integrate analogue, ADAT, and MADI in a compact and flexible 1U rack unit. With 16 balanced analogue inputs and 16 balanced analogue outputs operating up to 192 kHz, the Ferrofish Pulse16 MX offers professional-grade conversion alongside versatile digital connectivity, making it ideal for recording, broadcast, and live sound applications.

Equipped with 4 x 4 ADAT I/O and a modular MADI interface, the Ferrofish Pulse16 MX provides 64 x 64 channels over optical MADI, or 16 x 16 channels at 192 kHz, in addition to 32 x 32 ADAT channels at 48 kHz. The MADI SFP slot is shipped with an optical LC multimode module but can be swapped for other standards, such as singlemode. MIDI-over-MADI is supported, allowing remote control through the MADI stream, while ADAT ensures full compatibility with widely used studio systems.

Analogue I/O is delivered through 32 TRS connectors, with levels adjustable up to +20 dBu in 1 dB steps, and an optional +24 dBu configuration available to comply with SMPTE standards. Low-latency 24-bit converters, a temperature-compensated internal clock, and jitter reduction PLL guarantee transparent, crystal-clear sound. Two TFT colour displays on the Ferrofish Pulse16 MX provide full metering and system information at a glance, ensuring operation is intuitive without the need for a manual. The internal routing matrix brings together all 176 input and output channels in groups of eight, with any signal routable to the front-panel headphone output for quick monitoring.

Compact, fanless, and highly reliable, the Ferrofish Pulse16 MX provides seamless integration of analogue, ADAT, and MADI formats. Its flexibility, expandability, and affordability make it the central hub for a wide range of professional audio workflows.
