The Ferrofish Pulse16 is a cost-effective AD/DA converter designed to expand studio and live systems with 16 channels of high-quality analogue and digital connectivity. Offering 16 balanced analogue inputs and 16 balanced analogue outputs up to 96 kHz, the Ferrofish Pulse16 converts directly to ADAT I/O, providing seamless integration with a wide range of professional equipment. Compact yet powerful, the unit packs professional-grade features into a 1U chassis, making it one of the most affordable solutions for expanding analogue I/O through ADAT.
With its low-latency converters, temperature-compensated clock, and jitter reduction PLL, the Pulse16 ensures pristine, transparent conversion at all times. Analogue connections are provided on 32 TRS jacks, supporting levels up to +20 dBu in 1 dB steps. Four pairs of ADAT interfaces allow all 16×16 channels to be used simultaneously at up to 96 kHz, while an optional MADI SFP module and firmware upgrade transforms the Pulse16 into the full-featured Ferrofish Pulse16 MX with 192 kHz operation.
The Ferrofish Pulse16 offers clear, intuitive operation via two bright TFT displays, providing real-time visual feedback of all I/O levels and system status. The internal routing matrix brings together all 48 analogue and digital channels in groups of eight, with any signal routable to the front-panel headphone output for quick monitoring. Configuration and control are streamlined through the front panel, with additional control options via MIDI or MIDI-over-MADI when upgraded.
Designed for long-term adaptability, the Ferrofish Pulse16 offers future-ready expansion through its optional MADI upgrade, making it a versatile investment that grows with studio or live requirements. Compact, affordable, and uncompromising in sound quality, the Ferrofish Pulse16 provides maximum connectivity with style.
