The JBL 708P is an 8-inch bi-amplified master reference monitor designed for critical music recording, film post-production, and broadcast applications. Sharing technology with the acclaimed JBL M2 Master Reference Monitor, the JBL 708P incorporates next-generation driver designs and JBL’s patented Image Control Waveguide to deliver exceptional output, pristine accuracy, and an expansive soundstage.
Its 2409H high-frequency compression driver uses a low-mass annular diaphragm for smooth response beyond 36 kHz with extremely low distortion, while the 728G low-frequency driver employs JBL’s Differential Drive technology for powerful, low-distortion bass that extends below 35 Hz. Dual 250-watt Class-D amplifiers drive each transducer independently, supported by internal 192 kHz/32-bit floating-point DSP that enables precise equalisation, delay, and user-defined tuning.
The JBL 708P includes both analogue and AES/EBU digital inputs, user-selectable sample rate conversion, and HARMAN HiQnet network control. Built with a reinforced birch plywood cabinet, protective steel grille, and flexible mounting options, the JBL 708P combines high SPL capability and stunning detail in a compact design optimised for modern professional environments.
