Lucid SRC9624 Sample Rate Converter

Lucid SRC9624
The Lucid SRC9624 is a professional sample rate converter released in 2001 that provides real time asynchronous conversion, supports both single wire and dual wire 96 kHz formats, offers extensive sync options and delivers low-jitter, high dynamic range digital audio processing in a 1U chassis.

Lucid SRC9624 Sample Rate Converter Details

The Lucid SRC9624 Sample Rate Converter was engineered to solve the long-standing compatibility problems that arise when digital audio devices run at different sample rates, use different 96 kHz transmission formats or rely on unstable internal clocks. Lucid SRC9624 provides real time asynchronous sample rate conversion for professional and consumer digital audio systems, handling input sample rates from 30 kHz to 100 kHz, including varispeed and all common pull up and pull down variations.

The Lucid SRC9624 supports 16, 20 and 24 bit word sizes and works with both single wire and dual wire AES3 transmission modes at 96 kHz, allowing any combination of gear to be connected without leaving the digital domain. The Lucid SRC9624 can also convert two independent single wire stereo streams up to 96 kHz to any standard output rate, effectively functioning as two sample rate converters in one chassis.

Connectivity is extensive, with AES3 on XLR, coaxial AES3-S/PDIF, optical S/PDIF, word clock and AES11 inputs and outputs. Five internal clock rates between 32 kHz and 96 kHz plus three external sync options enable synchronisation in complex systems, while its low jitter PLL circuitry ensures stable clocking and clean outputs. The Lucid SRC9624 offers global triangular PDF-based dithering to 20 bit or 16 bit for storing high dynamic range programme material on lower resolution digital formats.

The Lucid SRC9624 was designed to provide straightforward routing, format conversion and synchronisation while maintaining very low distortion and wide dynamic range, making it suitable for mastering, broadcast, post production and studio environments.
