MOTU 10Pre Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Audio Interface Details

The MOTU 10Pre Audio Interface combines exceptional audio quality, advanced connectivity and versatile control in a compact professional unit. Built around renowned ESS Sabre32 DAC technology, it delivers pristine audio with 125 dB of dynamic range and ultra-low harmonic distortion, ensuring clarity and precision in every recording.

With Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 connectivity, the MOTU 10Pre offers universal compatibility with Mac, PC, iOS and iPadOS systems, providing up to 256 channels of computer I/O at sample rates up to 96 kHz. Its 26 inputs and 28 outputs allow simultaneous connection of studio monitors, microphones, guitars, synths and outboard gear, with two dedicated insert loops on channels 1–2 for analogue processing. The ten mic inputs deliver -114 dB THD+N, 118 dB dynamic range and -129 dBu EIN performance, each offering individual gain, pad and phantom power.

The MOTU 10Pre features a powerful 64-channel digital mixer with 32-bit floating point precision, including 4-band EQ, compression, gating and reverb. Its flexible routing system allows full matrix patching with point-to-point signal routing, virtual patch cords, and a visual routing grid for complex workflows.

Audio networking is powered by an integrated AVB switch with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing expansion with multiple MOTU interfaces, computers or devices over standard network cabling. AVB ensures low latency, high channel counts and stable, self-managing performance with network-wide clocking and synchronisation.

  • MOTU 10Pre Networking: 2 x Gigabit AVB Ethernet; 16 AVB streams in/out up to 96 kHz; 8 streams in/out at 176.4 or 192 kHz; 1 to 8 audio channels configurable per stream; up to 128 audio channels in and out up to 96 kHz; supports 1722.1 connection management and control; supports AAF stream formats and legacy AM8-24; stream format configurable per stream

CueMix Pro software provides wireless control over all functions from macOS, Windows or iOS devices, while the included Performer Lite DAW and sound libraries let users start recording immediately. Additional features include DC-coupled TRS outputs for modular synth control, optical I/O for expansion, dual headphone outputs with independent mixes, and loopback functionality for live streaming and podcasting. Designed for modern studios, the MOTU 10Pre delivers professional-grade recording, mixing and networked audio performance with flexible connectivity and intuitive control.
