PMC6 is an active two-way reference monitor designed for professionals who require the highest level of reliable monitoring performance in a compact format. Delivering the same sonic signature as PMC’s larger systems, the PMC6 is ideally suited to smaller control rooms while also integrating seamlessly into larger immersive and multi-channel environments. Its exceptional resolution allows critical mix decisions to be made with absolute confidence.
At the core of the PMC6 is a bespoke 6-inch bass driver with 20mm of excursion, engineered specifically to work in combination with PMC’s latest ATL™ bass-loading and Laminair™ airflow technologies. This advanced low-frequency system outperforms many conventional 8-inch designs, delivering exceptional bass extension, headroom, dynamics, and consistently low distortion at all listening levels. High frequencies are handled by a precision-built one-inch fabric soft-dome tweeter, coupled with a shallow waveguide that ensures wide, tonally consistent dispersion and stable, accurate imaging across the listening area.
Both the low and high frequency drivers are individually driven by dedicated 200W ultra-low-distortion, high-damping-factor Class-D amplifiers. This fully active design ensures precise control of each driver, contributing to the PMC6’s clarity, punch, and authoritative sound. A sophisticated internal DSP engine manages crossover, protection, EQ, and alignment functions, allowing the system to maintain optimum tonal accuracy, phase coherence, and imaging performance.
The PMC6 automatically adapts to portrait or landscape placement, with DSP correction ensuring consistent performance regardless of orientation. Calibration can be carried out using the rear-panel controls or via PMC’s browser-accessible SoundAlign™ software, allowing single or grouped monitors to be configured quickly and accurately.
For extended low-frequency performance, the PMC6 can be partnered with a PMC8 SUB to form a PMC6 XBD system. Activating the dedicated XBD DSP mode ensures seamless integration between the units, delivering clean, controlled low-frequency extension down to 25Hz. A ceiling-mount yoke option also allows the PMC6 to be suspended for use in immersive and multi-channel monitoring installations.
