High frequencies are reproduced with exceptional clarity and smoothness, contributing to precise stereo imaging and long-term listening comfort.
Low and mid frequencies in the PreSonus R65 Studio Monitor are handled by a custom-coated, woven 6.5-inch low-frequency driver. The rigid cone construction allows the driver to maintain a more consistent dispersion pattern across its operating range, resulting in transparent midrange reproduction and controlled, punchy bass. The overall dispersion behaviour of the PreSonus R65 Studio Monitor is intentionally engineered with narrow vertical dispersion to reduce unwanted room reflections, while broad horizontal dispersion ensures a wide and stable sweet spot.
Amplification in the PreSonus R65 Studio Monitor is provided by a biamped 150 watt RMS Class D power stage, with 100 watts dedicated to the low-frequency driver and 50 watts to the high-frequency AMT tweeter. This configuration delivers ample headroom and efficiency while maintaining a clean and open sound character. The result is an accurate and less fatiguing listening experience that remains consistent across a wide range of playback levels.
To accommodate different room placements and studio environments, the PreSonus R65 Studio Monitor includes Acoustic Space controls with selectable attenuation settings, allowing compensation for boundary proximity and room-related low-frequency build-up. An onboard high-pass filter enables easy integration with a subwoofer, making the PreSonus R65 Studio Monitor suitable for both full-range and satellite-based monitoring systems. Connectivity is flexible, with balanced XLR and 6.35 mm TRS inputs alongside unbalanced RCA, ensuring seamless integration into a wide variety of professional and semi-professional setups.
Additional design considerations include comprehensive protection circuitry covering RF interference, output current limiting, over-temperature protection, turn-on and turn-off transient suppression, and subsonic filtering. An interchangeable black faceplate is included for visual customisation, while Energy Conservation Mode reduces standby power consumption to below 0.5 watts. The PreSonus R65 Studio Monitor is supplied with an external mains fuse and supports worldwide mains operation. Each unit is sold individually.
