A robust analogue stereo spring reverb unit designed with both character and versatility, the Teaching Machines Wellspring delivers an authentically vintage sound with a modern edge. Capable of producing everything from subtle, lush ambience to extreme and chaotic sonic textures, it provides a wide spectrum of effects with a simple twist of the controls. At the core of the Teaching Machines Wellspring are two full-sized spring reverb tanks, each containing two springs per channel, giving a total of four springs that create a rich and immersive stereo reverb.
Feeding into the tanks is a stereo pair of delay lines, complete with feedback and the option for separate or synchronised times. These combine naturally with the springs to extend reverb tails and shape the overall depth of sound. To refine or radically alter the resulting textures, the Teaching Machines Wellspring incorporates four sweep-able stereo analogue filters, as well as stereo modulation options that reach into audio oscillator territory. External sync for the LFO ensures precise rhythmic control when required.
The design of the Teaching Machines Wellspring encourages creativity, allowing for everything from subtle ambience to experimental sound design. An additional feedback crossover loop adds a unique character, sending the signal from one channel back into the opposite delay line, resulting in infinite reverb tails, unexpected resonances and even wild feedback tones.
With high-impedance guitar input alongside stereo line connections, the unit is equally suited to guitarists, electronic musicians, and studio applications. The Teaching Machines Wellspring can be rack-mounted with attachable ears or used on a tabletop with fitted rubber feet.
The stereo width and reverb depth of the Teaching Machines Wellspring are striking, producing effects that range from heavenly and atmospheric to intense and almost unearthly, making this unit a versatile and highly creative tool for both traditional reverb duties and adventurous sound shaping.
