TK Audio M/S Station is an advanced mid/side processing tool designed for mastering and main-bus applications. It combines four discrete functions across two linkable sections in a single rack unit, offering precision control over stereo width, low-end focus and parallel processing. In the first section a stepped blend insert lets you mix any external processor between dry and wet signals in up to sixteen precise increments.
Engaging the mid/side function codes the signal into mid (left plus right) and side (left minus right) components, so you can process centre elements such as bass and vocals separately from panned material. A split-blend mode provides independent wet/dry controls for mid and side signals before they are decoded back to left/right.
The second section offers an elliptical equaliser, width control and an advanced cue function. The elliptical equaliser sums all frequencies below a user-selected threshold to mono, tightening low-end focus and preventing vinyl-mastering issues, with sixteen frequency settings from 36 hertz to 302 hertz. A phase-corrected high-pass filter ensures minimal disruption to stereo separation.
The width control on the TK Audio M/S Station adjusts the amount of side information in forty-one detented steps from mono to twice the original stereo spread. The cue section uses passive relay switching to let you monitor left, right, stereo, mid or side signals at any point, and an insert-cue mode lets you audition mid or side blends independently of the equaliser and width stages. Both sections may be unlinked via internal jumpers to place them at different points in a signal chain.
Every TK Audio M/S Station is hand assembled in Halmstad, Sweden, and inspired by circuits designed by Wayne Kirkwood. Its illuminated switches and front-panel meters make setup intuitive, while its high dynamic range, low distortion and transparent design ensure maximum fidelity for professional mastering and mixing.
