The Bettermaker PEQ_core is a high-end passive stereo equaliser designed for professional recording studios, mastering engineers, and audio professionals. It features a 100% analogue audio signal path controlled via a dedicated digital plugin, offering full DAW integration, instant parameter recall, and real-time automation. This hybrid design combines the sonic characteristics of passive equalisation with the workflow efficiency of digital control, making it suitable for audio mastering, mix bus processing, and hybrid production environments.
The Bettermaker PEQ_core utilises a 100% analogue audio signal path to maintain the natural depth and musicality associated with top-tier mastering equipment. All parameters are managed through a dedicated plugin that provides full DAW integration, allowing for automation, preset management, and instant recall of settings. This setup eliminates the need for manual documentation of settings and enables the rapid recreation of sessions.
The Bettermaker PEQ_core supports both stereo and dual mono operation with precisely linked stereo controls. It includes a Band Audition function for precise frequency adjustments and provides input and output metering within the plugin interface. Connectivity is handled via USB for both Mac and PC systems, facilitating seamless integration into modern digital production environments.
The Bettermaker PEQ_core equaliser offers specific frequency bands tailored for mastering. The low-frequency section includes fixed frequencies of 20 Hz, 30 Hz, 60 Hz, and 100 Hz, with a maximum boost of +15 dB and a maximum cut of -16 dB. The high-frequency section provides boost frequencies at 3 kHz, 4 kHz, 5 kHz, 6 kHz, 8 kHz, 10 kHz, 12 kHz, 16 kHz, 20 kHz, and 28 kHz, with a maximum boost of +18 dB. Cut frequencies are available at 5 kHz, 10 kHz, and 20 kHz. The extended high-frequency section includes Air Bands at 20 kHz and 28 kHz to enhance openness and spatial detail.
Housed in a compact 1U chassis, the Bettermaker PEQ_core is designed for easy integration into studio racks and multi-bus processing setups. Its form factor makes it suitable for both large commercial facilities and private studios, supporting workflows that require speed, accuracy, and repeatable processing chains.
