JVC

JVC was a significant force in the early development of professional digital audio systems, offering a comprehensive and modular approach to two-channel PCM mastering. Through its Digital Audio Mastering System, centred around the VP-900 Digital Audio Processor and DS-DM900 Digital Audio Mixer, JVC provided a fully integrated platform for recording, editing and delivering digital masters for Compact Disc, broadcast and synchronised audio/video production. Employing its own BP bi-parity error correction format and supporting both ¾ inch U-matic and ½ inch VHS transports, JVC’s professional digital audio systems were designed to deliver high reliability, precise error correction and flexible system configuration at a time when digital mastering standards were still being established.
