UREI

UREI (or United Recording Electronics Industries) was a prominent American manufacturer of professional audio equipment that was founded in 1954 by M. David Gittleson and Theodore L. “Ted” Fletcher. The company was known for its high-quality analogue equipment, including mixers, equalisers, compressors, and other signal processing devices. In the 1960s and 1970s, UREI developed several innovative and influential products, including the UREI 1176 Peak Limiter and the UREI LA-3A Leveling Amplifier. These devices became ubiquitous in recording studios around the world and were used on countless hit records.
