Building on the highly acclaimed Camden 500 preamp design, Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 delivers two ultra-clean and transparent preamps capable of up to 68dB of gain with class-leading low-noise and low-distortion specifications.
Both channels feature Cranborne Audio’s unique Mojo circuit, offering variable harmonic saturation with two distinct styles: Thump for enhanced low-end harmonic content and Cream for transformer-like harmonic richness and transient control.
Beyond preamplification, Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 incorporates two high-powered reference-grade headphone amplifiers with independent line mixers, enabling zero-latency monitoring of preamp signals or artist mixes blended with DAW playback via rear-panel Aux inputs.
This feature allows engineers to audition microphone placements in real time and create custom monitor mixes directly from the unit without relying on an external interface. Dedicated Link outputs enable true instrument DI reamping, making Camden EC2 a versatile tool for both tracking and creative workflows.
With C.A.S.T. connectivity, Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 integrates seamlessly with Cranborne’s 500R8 and 500ADAT systems. A single shielded Cat 5e, Cat 6, or Cat 7 cable carries both Camden preamp signals into the 500R8/500ADAT for further processing while simultaneously transmitting monitor mixes back to Cranborne Audio Camden EC2’s headphone amplifiers, streamlining live room setups.
Balanced XLR outputs, impedance balanced jack outputs, and link outputs ensure flexible integration into any studio environment. The unit is powered by an external high-current 24V supply for stability and reliability.
