Focusrite Red 8Line Audio Interface Details

The Focusrite Red 8Line is a professional 58-in/64-out Thunderbolt 3 audio interface designed to deliver uncompromising recording and playback quality. Featuring professional-grade 24-bit/192kHz conversion with 119dB A-D and 121dB D-A dynamic range, the Focusrite Red 8Line ensures mastering-grade fidelity. At its core are two Red Evolution mic preamps, providing up to 63dB of ultra-clean gain with individually switchable phantom power, high-pass filters, phase reverse, and Focusrite’s renowned Air mode, inspired by the classic ISA 110.

Connectivity is extensive, with eight line-level inputs and outputs on DB25, independent monitor outputs, dual instrument inputs, dual headphone outputs, 32 channels of Dante I/O, 16 channels of ADAT I/O at 48kHz, and stereo S/PDIF I/O. For workflow flexibility, Focusrite Red 8Line integrates seamlessly with both Pro Tools | HD systems and other DAWs via twin mini-DigiLink ports and Thunderbolt 3, with the ability to switch instantly between them from the front panel or RedNet Control software.

Low-latency Thunderbolt 3 performance enables real-time tracking with DAW plug-ins, and dual Thunderbolt ports allow daisy-chaining with external devices such as DSP accelerators, 4K displays, and hubs. Dante support ensures interoperability with hundreds of Audio-over-IP devices, from consoles to stage boxes, while onboard monitor control supports stereo through to 7.1.2 immersive formats, including Dolby Atmos, especially when paired with the RedNet R1 controller.

Three high-resolution LCDs on the front panel of the Focusrite Red 8Line provide precision metering for all I/O blocks, while RedNet Control 2 software offers intuitive hardware-focused routing and setup. Dual high-fidelity headphone outputs and front-panel instrument inputs provide convenient access for performers. Completing the package is a software bundle that includes Brainworx bx\_console Focusrite SC, along with Red 2 and Red 3 plug-ins, bringing the sonic legacy of Focusrite’s revered analogue hardware to the modern DAW environment.
