The Fredenstein F200 Dual Mic‑Pre + Stereo FET Compressor is a 2‑channel professional audio unit combining a microphone preamplifier and a FET compressor in a single 1U rack-mountable device. Each channel of the Fredenstein F200 comprises a mic‑pre and compressor, connected in series, with an integrated mixer that lets you choose between mic‑pre only, compressor only, or a blend of both through a wet/dry mix.
The mic‑pre section includes a switchable 20 dB pad, a low‑cut filter, phase reversal, +48 V phantom power, and a high‑impedance DI input compatible with balanced and unbalanced signals. It offers a maximum gain of +60 dB (minimum 0 dB with the pad enabled), and features a clip LED that illuminates at mic‑pre output levels above +24 dBu.
The compressor section includes rotary controls for Attack Time, Release Time, and Compression Ratio, with a Stereo link switch for linked operation. The VU meter is switchable to display either compressor gain reduction or output level. Additional LED indicators accompany all switches. A universal power supply supports 90 VAC to 240 VAC at 50–60 Hz—optimised for global touring and recording.
As with all Fredenstein gear, the Fredenstein F200 is designed by a German‑American team and manufactured in Taiwan.
