The rugged steel chassis houses a versatile I/O configuration, offering 18 inputs and 22 outputs for a total of 40 simultaneous channels at standard sample rates. Connections include two mic/line/instrument combo inputs, six balanced line inputs, ten balanced line outputs, ADAT optical I/O (with SMUX support), stereo RCA S/PDIF I/O, stereo headphone output with volume control, and MIDI in/out. Optical ports can also be switched to stereo TOSLink S/PDIF, providing flexible digital connectivity.
Equally at home in the studio or on stage, the MOTU Ultralite Mk5 can function as a stand-alone mixer with its on-board DSP, delivering comprehensive routing, mixing, and effects control via the CueMix™ 5 app for macOS, Windows, and iOS. Loopback functionality allows easy streaming or podcast recording by routing both computer audio and live inputs back to the host. As a class-compliant USB interface, it connects directly to iOS devices for mobile recording or live performance without a computer, with full control available via the CueMix 5 iOS app.
Bundled Performer Lite software includes over 100 virtual instruments and 6 GB of loops and samples from Big Fish Audio, Lucidsamples, and Loopmasters, enabling music creation right out of the box. For touring and fixed installations, optional half-rack mounting kits and coupler kits allow secure integration into rack systems.
