Neumann KH 310 A Studio Monitor

The Neumann KH 310 A is a 310-watt tri-amplified three-way nearfield monitor with a sealed cabinet, delivering 34Hz–21kHz response, exceptional transient accuracy, and precise imaging for professional recording, mixing, and mastering applications.

Neumann KH 310 A Studio Monitor Details

The Neumann KH 310 A is a high-resolution three-way tri-amplified nearfield monitor engineered for absolute accuracy, low distortion, and exceptional transient response. Designed for critical listening, mixing, and mastering, it delivers the neutrality and detail demanded by professional studios worldwide. Its sealed cabinet design ensures controlled, precise bass and a fast transient response, making it ideal for accurate midrange work and critical evaluation of speech, vocals, and instruments.

The Neumann KH 310 A features three carefully optimised drivers powered by thermally protected Class AB amplifiers, 210 watts for the woofer and 90 watts each for the midrange and tweeter, achieving sound pressure levels up to 116.3dB with total precision. The 8.25-inch (210mm) composite sandwich cone woofer, driven by Neumann’s Extremely Linear Force Factor (ELFF™) motor system, produces deep, distortion-free bass down to 34Hz.

The ultralight 3-inch (75mm) fabric dome midrange driver, powered by a neodymium magnet, ensures highly detailed and transparent reproduction of critical midrange content, while the 1-inch (25mm) alloy fabric dome tweeter delivers smooth, low-distortion high frequencies extending to 21kHz.

Neumann’s Mathematically Modelled Dispersion™ (MMD™) waveguide provides a wide horizontal and tightly controlled vertical dispersion pattern, allowing freedom of movement across the listening area while minimising reflections from nearby surfaces such as consoles or desks. The result is a stable, well-defined stereo image and consistent response in a variety of acoustic environments. Adjustable bass, low-mid, and treble controls on the rear panel further allow fine-tuning for different rooms or setups.

The Neumann KH 310 A’s powerful switch-mode power supply, solid one-piece front panel, and precisely curved cabinet minimise resonance and diffraction, ensuring an exceptionally smooth frequency response. Capable of producing a tight, dry bass foundation and an ultra-fast transient response, the Neumann KH 310 A serves as a reference tool that translates mixes with absolute reliability. When paired with the Neumann KH 750 DSP subwoofer and Neumann Control software, it becomes part of a fully integrated, room-aligned monitoring system.

Love these things!

I bought these because I could not afford the ATC SCM25s at the time, but I had no regrets to be honest. I mixed on these for a few years and loved them. The mixes traslated well, and to be honest their less than brutal approach to sound (compared to the ATCs) was welcome on long mixing days. Great monitors!
