Neumann announced the KH 350 in September 2026 alongside the KH 310 II as part of a new generation of three-way studio monitors. While the Neumann KH 310 II represented an evolution of Neumann’s established KH 310 design, the Neumann KH 350 was an entirely new model created to extend the KH range further into midfield monitoring while retaining sufficient control for closer nearfield use.
The Neumann KH 350 uses a three-way bass-reflex design built around a 210mm woofer, 75mm midrange driver and 25mm tweeter. Neumann specifies a free-field frequency response of 30Hz to 21kHz at ±3dB, with a passband response of 32Hz to 20kHz within ±1.25dB. Between 100Hz and 10kHz, the specified free-field linearity deviation is just ±0.8dB.
A major element of the Neumann KH 350 design is Neumann’s Mathematically Modelled Dispersion waveguide. The waveguide controls the radiation characteristics of the midrange and high-frequency drivers, providing consistent dispersion across the listening area and reducing the influence of unwanted room reflections. This controlled directivity allows the monitor to operate across a recommended listening distance of 1.2 to 3 metres, while remaining suitable for closer nearfield applications.
The Neumann KH 350 employs an active digital crossover operating at 700Hz and 1.7kHz with 24dB-per-octave slopes. Its internal DSP operates with 32-bit audio processing and 64-bit double-precision calculations, and incorporates FIR phase correction between 60Hz and 18kHz.
Amplification is provided separately for each driver. At 10% THD+N with the limiters disabled, the woofer amplifier is rated at 300 watts, the midrange amplifier at 160 watts and the tweeter amplifier at 125 watts. At 0.1% THD+N, the respective ratings are 185 watts, 125 watts and 125 watts.
Maximum calculated SPL in half space at 1 metre, averaged between 100Hz and 6kHz at 3% THD, is 122.6dB SPL. The corresponding full-space figure is 116.6dB SPL. Bass capability, measured between 50Hz and 100Hz under the same half-space conditions, is specified at 109.7dB SPL.
The Neumann KH 350 also supports Neumann’s MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment system. Using the monitor’s internal DSP, MA 1 can optimise frequency and phase response for the listening environment. Ethernet connectivity allows the monitor to communicate with MA 1 software, making the KH 350 suitable for individually aligned stereo systems as well as larger multichannel and immersive installations.
Analogue connectivity is provided through an electronically balanced XLR input with an input impedance greater than 12 kohms. Digital audio is handled through 75-ohm BNC connectors using the AES3id format, with both digital input and output connections provided. The digital converter operates at 24-bit resolution and accepts sampling rates from 32kHz to 200kHz, while the monitor performs its internal processing at 48kHz.
The rear-panel input selector provides analogue, AES3id left, AES3id right and mono options. Input gain can be adjusted between 0dB and -15dB, while output level settings provide reference levels of 94, 100, 108 or 114dB SPL at 1 metre for a 0dBu input.
Local acoustic controls provide bass adjustment of 0, -1, -2 or -4dB, low-mid adjustment of 0, -1, -2 or -3dB, and treble adjustment of +1, 0, -1 or -2dB. More detailed adjustment and monitor control can be carried out through the network using MA 1. The DSP also provides time-of-flight compensation with a maximum delay of 120ms, corresponding to approximately 41.2 metres. Delay resolution is 20.8 microseconds, equivalent to approximately 0.71mm of acoustic distance.
Protection systems operate independently across the monitor’s drivers and electronics. These include soft clipping, peak limiting and thermal limiting, together with woofer excursion protection and thermal protection for the amplifiers and electronic circuitry.
The Neumann KH 350 cabinet combines a composite polycarbonate front baffle, wooden enclosure sleeve and aluminium electronics panel. The monitor is finished with a metallic anthracite front and black rear panel. Two M8 mounting points are provided on the side panels, allowing the monitor to be used with compatible Neumann mounting hardware.
With a cabinet volume of 52 litres and a weight of 20kg, the Neumann KH 350 is considerably more substantial than a conventional compact nearfield monitor, but remains considerably smaller than large-format main monitoring systems. Its combination of low-frequency extension, controlled dispersion, high output capability and DSP-based room alignment places it between conventional nearfield monitoring and larger midfield systems.
The Neumann KH 350 was designed for music production, recording, mixing and mastering, as well as broadcast, post-production, film scoring and immersive audio applications. Its shared acoustic and DSP platform allows it to be combined with other network-capable Neumann KH monitors and subwoofers when building multichannel systems.
