Elysia Karacter adds vibrant colour and excitement to your mixes in a controlled and musical way. Its mastering grade saturation mode applies smooth symmetrical clipping to enrich your sound, emphasising uneven harmonics such as the third and fifth orders. You can use the mix control to blend the saturated signal with the original dry path for perfect tonal balance.
When you switch to tube inspired distortion, the clipping characteristic becomes asymmetrical, reminiscent of a driven tube amplifier. This mode highlights even harmonics such as the second and fourth orders. Use the Colour control extensively in this mode to dial in the exact character you need.
The Colour Filter is a unique and complex network governed by a single knob. Unlike simple top end roll-off filters, it forms part of the total harmonic distortion process itself, offering a spectrum of sweet spots from dubby growl to steely punch.
For extreme textures, engage the Turbo Boost function to place the FET Shred mode on steroids. This shifts the operating point of the distortion circuitry to produce even more asymmetrical clipping, ideal for industrial styles, sample mangling and brutal guitar tones.
The integrated mid side matrix encodes and decodes your stereo signal so you can treat the middle and side components independently. For example, you can fatten the centre without altering the stereo image, or apply heavy distortion only to the sides.
Elysia Karacter can operate in dual mono mode, giving you two fully independent channels of saturation, distortion and destruction. In stereo link mode both channels follow a single set of controls for comfortable stereo processing. In mid side mode you process the mid and side signals entirely separately.
On Elysia Karacter both Drive and Mix parameters can be modulated or automated via external control voltages connected to the EXT1 or EXT2 inputs. This feature lets you create dynamic and evolving colouration that adapts to your music.
