Eventide Harmonizer processors have long been regarded as enduring tools within professional studios and performance environments. Rather than following short product cycles, Eventide has traditionally introduced new models only when significant advances in processing technology allow a measurable step forward in capability. The Eventide H7600 represents such a development, expanding on the foundation established by the H3000, DSP4000 and DSP7000 series.
The Eventide H7600 is a two-channel effects processor offering increased processing power compared to its predecessors. Designed for both studio and live use, it combines enhanced performance with an updated user interface that includes search functionality, enabling faster access to programmes and parameters.
Reverb processing is a central component of the Eventide H7600. It includes stereo versions of the reverbs that earned Eventide the Best Reverb Award from Studio Sound magazine. In addition to established acoustic simulations, the H7600 provides a wide range of environments, from small rooms and chambers to large halls, arenas, plate reverbs and specialised spaces such as Car Window and Black Hole. These programmes support music production and post-production applications across varied genres and formats.
The internal architecture of the Eventide H7600 is based on a modular approach. Each of its 1100 factory preset algorithms is constructed from a library of over 230 individual processing blocks. In this system, every preset functions as a distinct algorithm rather than a variation of a limited core structure. Users can design their own effects from the front panel or via the supplied VSIG software for Windows and VSIG-X for Mac OS X, enabling detailed custom programme development.
Sampling functions are integrated within the Eventide H7600, offering up to 174 seconds of mono sampling time or 87 seconds in stereo. The sampler supports stereo looping, multiple sample stacking and independent editing. Users can pitch shift, compress or expand time, and apply tap tempo looping, providing flexibility for music production, remixing and broadcast tasks.
For broadcast and post-production, the Eventide H7600 includes specialised presets created by sound designer Jay Rose. These programmes allow rapid creation of recognisable audio perspectives and character treatments, including public address simulations, drive-up intercom effects, toy-like voices, off-screen television sound and telephone-style processing, along with a range of stylised or fantasy vocal treatments.
The Eventide H7600 also features 20 MIDI Virtual Rack preset algorithms, each capable of combining up to five full effect processors within a single configuration. Every preset includes ten programmable variations that can be stored and controlled in real time via MIDI. Up to 45 parameters may be assigned to a single MIDI control message. Single effect blocks are also available as standalone presets, allowing custom chains to be assembled as required.
Pitch processing is handled by the UltraShifter, Eventide’s advanced formant-preserving pitch shifting technology. Designed with particular attention to vocal applications, it employs real-time adaptive resynthesis to modify pitch while maintaining formant characteristics, supporting detailed manipulation of vocal timbre.
The Eventide H7600 integrates classic Eventide effects alongside new processing developments, consolidating decades of Harmonizer technology into a single platform with expanded processing resources and flexible control.
